You will be aware that part of the school curriculum includes a study of the Great War and the casualties sustained during that conflict. Many schools and colleges undertake research projects to ascertain how the men named on their own honour board or perhaps the local town War Memorial came to die. As part of that research it is essential to determine the man’s unit and date of death. This CD-ROM will speedily point the student in the right direction to enable further research to be undertaken. Many students will have an ancestor listed in Soldiers Died about whom they probably are not aware. We believe that using this CD-ROM will make the study of the Great War more exciting and accessible.
The CD-ROM has been supplied to institutions throughout the country including the Ministry of Defence, the Public Records Office, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and many universities, libraries and other public bodies. They have all reported favourably on its ease of use, versatility and the great saving in time over searching through perhaps many volumes of the printed work.
